Mission Statement

The Media and Corporate Communications Unit is committed to advancing Wigwe University’s vision of fostering innovation, leadership, and excellence across Africa and beyond. Serving as the custodian of the University’s image and reputation, the Unit ensures that the institution’s values, achievements, and strategic priorities are communicated with clarity, consistency, and integrity to both internal and external audiences.

Comprising the Editorial, Graphics and Concept, Protocol, and Social Media Units, the department harmonizes creativity and strategic communication to project a unified institutional identity. It develops and disseminates high-quality content, manages the University’s visual and digital presence, and coordinates official engagements and events that reflect the dignity, professionalism, and intellectual vibrancy of Wigwe University.

In fulfilling its mandate, the Media and Corporate Communications Unit strengthens the University’s relationships with its stakeholders—students, faculty, staff, alumni, partners, and the wider community. Through purposeful storytelling, proactive media engagement, and adherence to the highest communication standards, the Unit contributes to positioning Wigwe University as a centre of excellence, innovation, and transformative learning.

Emmanuel Attat is a results-driven Corporate Communication professional with over 15 years of experience in journalism, advertising, and public relations. As the Public Relations Officer of Wigwe University and Head of the Media and Corporate Communications Unit, he leads initiatives that enhance the University’s reputation, visibility, and stakeholder engagement.

An Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and Member of the International Advertising Association (IAA), Emmanuel previously led Media and Corporate Communications at British Canadian University, Obudu, and served as Head of Protocol, Media, and Corporate Affairs at Covenant University. He is known for his creativity, integrity, and strategic communication approach, and is an alumnus of Olabisi Onabanjo University and the Lagos State Digital Public Relations Summit.

Ikenna Okoronkwo is a creative and user-focused UX/UI and Graphic Designer with over four years of experience designing intuitive, engaging, and scalable digital solutions. He is passionate about crafting human-centred experiences that connect people and technology through thoughtful design, user research, and data-driven insights. His experience spans the education, real estate, and technology sectors, where he has collaborated with teams to create designs that enhance usability, engagement, and satisfaction.

A graduate of Architecture from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana, Ikenna also holds professional certifications in Graphic Design (CalArts) and Design Thinking (University of Virginia). At Wigwe University, he serves as a Graphic and UX/UI Designer, where he contributes to the university’s digital innovation by developing designs that communicate clearly, reflect the institution’s vision, and deliver seamless user experiences across platforms.
