Job Description:

Wigwe University is seeking a qualified and dedicated Pharmacist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the university’s pharmacy operations, dispensing medications, advising on pharmaceutical treatments, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The Pharmacist will play a key role in supporting the health and wellness of students, faculty, and staff.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense prescription medications and offer pharmaceutical guidance to patients.
  • Provide consultation on medication use, side effects, and potential interactions.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management and procurement of medications.
  • Maintain records of all transactions and comply with legal standards.
  • Collaborate with university health services to develop health initiatives.
  • Monitor and maintain pharmaceutical storage conditions, ensuring medication quality.
  • Educate patients on preventive healthcare practices.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (minimum of second-class lower division).
  • Membership with the Pharmacist Council of Nigeria is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a clinical or academic setting.
  • Must have NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceuticals, medications, and pharmacology.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong focus on patient care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and university staff.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and resourceful Librarian II to join our university library team. This role involves managing library resources, assisting students and faculty with research, and promoting library services. The Librarian II will also support collection development, cataloguing, and user education initiatives to foster an engaging and supportive learning environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide reference and research assistance to students, faculty, and staff.
  • Assist in cataloguing and classifying new library materials.
  • Collaborate on collection development, ensuring resources meet academic needs.
  • Support library users in locating and using digital and physical resources.
  • Develop and deliver workshops on information literacy and library resources.
  • Manage library systems to ensure accurate, accessible, and organized collections.
  • Assist with interlibrary loan services and resource sharing initiatives.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Library Science and Information Science, or any related field (minimum of second-class lower division).
  • Master’s degree in Library Science (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a library environment, ideally in an academic setting.
  • Proficiency in library cataloguing systems and digital resource management.
  • Strong research and information literacy skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
