A consummate professional University Administrator with extensive knowledge and vast experience in university governance, administration, and strategic leadership spanning 20 years, Moses has had an illustrious career, traversing most Divisions/Units across various ranks in the Registry. He served with distinction, and through a rigorous and transparent process, emerged as the Registrar, Crawford University in September 2020. As Registrar, and as part of modest contributions to national service, he has been appointed and has served as External Expert/Consultant on numerous Selection Boards for the appointment of Registrars and other Principal Officers of other universities. Also, he has mentored a host of serving and served-out Registrars of Nigerian Universities, aside providing invaluable mentorship to career Administrators in his immediate constituency at Crawford University.
He has consulted for numerous universities, both at home and abroad, and still counting. For instance, in June, 2013 he was appointed Voluntary State Secretary for Girne American University (GAU), North Cyprus, under the aegis of Training Guide International (TGI), a Consortium of several accredited and reputable European and American universities. He served creditably in that capacity, and by dint of hard work and excellent service, TGI went on to appoint him as Consultant/Student Counsellor in April, 2015, thus expanding his network of service to several other reputable universities in the Consortium. As approved by the parent University, he served creditably in these portfolios until September, 2020 when he was appointed and assumed office as the 1st substantive, indigenous Registrar of Crawford University. Through this unique Institutional Partnership, he did not only bring strong visibility, prestige and renown to his parent university, but to several other universities in the Consortium.
He has served as a Member of the Governing Council of Crawford University, unanimously elected by Congregation to represent her on that august body; has taught in the Department of Mass Communication, and in the bold bid to promote scholarship among students of the Department, instituted the “Moses N. Itauma’s Prize for Academic Excellence for the Best Graduating Student in the Department of Mass Communication”, an academic Prize which has ran for seven sessions as at November, 2025.
Moses is keen, and irrevocably committed to capacity-building and continuous training of the Registry workforce so as to enhance their competences and productivity in the university. As part of initiatives/innovation and bold resolve to deepen the culture of excellence and professionalism in service delivery, he instituted the “Annual Registry Staff Training Programme”, a scheme which brought in seasoned Registrars and accomplished Facilitators – proven professionals from other universities – as Resource Persons. With the active support of the Vice Chancellor, this scheme held sway five times in five years. Also, as part of his undaunted efforts to promote and sustain proper work ethics among the workforce, he instituted the “Punctuality Award” and the “Best Dressed Staff Award” – Male and Female categories. These Awards ran simultaneously for four sessions during his tenure as the Registrar.
As one who is passionate about making positive impact and creating lasting change, he is excited about the prospect of bringing on board his wealth of experience and distinctive acumen in university administration and governance, and thus adding more value to corporate organizations who are desirous of courting his services.
He holds B.Sc. (Hons.) Mass Communication, and M.Sc. Mass Communication degrees from the Lagos State University, Ojo, and the University of Lagos, Yaba, respectively. He belongs to several relevant professional bodies and has served actively as a Member of the Committee of Vice Chancellors & Registrars of Private Universities in Nigeria (CVCRPUN); and Member, Association of Registrars of Nigerian Universities (ARNU). Moses is a Fellow, Institute of Professional Managers and Administrators of Nigeria (FIPMA); Fellow, Institute of Oil & Gas Research and Hydrocarbon Studies (FIOGR); Member, Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) (Chartered); among others. He was the founding Chairman, Crawford University Chapter of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA-CRU Chapter). He has also presented Papers at several of these Conferences and Workshops; and has served creditably as a Member of the National Retreat/Workshop Planning Committee of ARNU.
As icing on the cake, Moses has won at least twenty (20) Awards and Commendations for Excellent/Meritorious Service from within and outside the University, nine (9) of which were won in Year 2025 alone. His contributions to higher educational administration in the countrycum-national service, modest career achievements, and community impacts have been aptly described as “legendary”.
Moses is an exemplar for integrity. He is happily married to Happiness. The union is blessed with adorable children. “Hitherto hath the Lord helped us (me)” (I Samuel 7:12) (KJV).
