Wigwe University Welcomes Professor Jonathan Mbachaga, Receives Book Donation to Enrich University Library

The Vice-Chancellor of Wigwe University, Professor Marwan Al-Akaidi, earlier today received Professor Jonathan Mbachaga, an accomplished Professor of Applied Theatre and Development Communication, on a courtesy visit that underscored the institution’s growing appeal to leading academics and its commitment to fostering a culture of scholarship and excellence.

Professor Mbachaga was received by Professor Al-Akaidi, alongside the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Chinyere Ukaga, and the Dean of the College of Arts, Professor Andrew Ate.

During the visit, Professor Mbachaga expressed his admiration for Wigwe University’s bold vision of redefining higher education in Africa. He noted that the University’s commitment to innovation, excellence, and transformative learning inspired his decision to donate copies of his published works to the University Library.

According to him, the donation reflects his commitment to supporting scholarship, promoting academic excellence, and advancing the University’s mission to nurture future-ready graduates equipped to solve Africa’s most pressing challenges.

Receiving the books on behalf of the University, the Vice-Chancellor commended Professor Mbachaga for his thoughtful contribution, describing the donation as a valuable addition to the University’s growing academic resources. The books were subsequently presented to the Dean of the College of Arts for onward transmission to the University Librarian for cataloguing and inclusion in the University’s library collection.
