The Vice-Chancellor and CEO of Wigwe University, Professor Marwan Al-Akaidi, had a fruitful and engaging discussion over the weekend with Ms Julie McKay, the Public Affairs Officer of the United States of America Consulate in Lagos. The thrust of the engagement centered on the prospects of facilitating Fulbright and other relevant fellowship programs for students and staff of Wigwe University.
Professor Marwan highlighted the University’s vision of building a globally competitive institution where students and faculty can access world-class learning, research, and cultural exchange opportunities. He emphasized that participation in international fellowship programs would not only enrich the academic experiences of Wigwe University’s scholars but also position the institution as a hub for innovation and global collaboration.
Professor Marwan also used the occasion to extend an invitation to officials of the embassy to visit the University campus and see the professional academic environment that Wigwe University offers students, not just from Nigeria and Africa, but from anywhere around the world seeking tertiary education in Nigeria.
