The Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer of Wigwe University, Professor Marwan Al-Akaidi, on Thursday, February 5, 2026, received 10 liaison representatives from the surrounding communities of Isiokpo Kingdom to strengthen ties and build lasting relationships with the host community.
Professor Al-Akaidi welcomed the delegation led by Honourable Success C. Owhondah, Councillor representing Isiokpo Ward 1 in the Ikwerre Local Government Legislative Assembly.
Briefing the Vice-Chancellor on the purpose of the courtesy visit, the liaison representatives said the visit was geared at introducing officials from the 10 communities under the jurisdiction of Isiokpo to the Vice-Chancellor and university leadership, and to reaffirm the community’s commitment to fostering a cordial relationship between Isiokpo Kingdom and the university while protecting the legacy of the late Herbert Wigwe.
Professor Al-Akaidi thanked the delegation for the visit and pledged an open-door policy. He also committed to creating an enabling environment to help young students in the community develop ICT skills that will prepare them for the world of work.
