Wigwe University Shines at International Student Film Festival with Five Major Awards

Wigwe University has achieved another outstanding feat on the global creative stage, as “The Letter,” a short film produced by the Wigwe University Creative Arts Club (WUCAC), emerged as a multiple award winner at the 2025 International Student Film Festival (ISFF). The production, which had earlier bagged an impressive ten nominations, stood out among entries from across the world.
The festival, with the theme ‘Legacy,’ saw ‘The Letter’ clinch five top awards, underscoring the depth of creativity, technical skill, and storytelling excellence nurtured within the university’s Creative Arts programme. The film won Best Short Film 2025, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Life Content (Using a Phone, Tripod, and Ring Light), and the highly coveted Best Overall Film award, reaffirming its status as a standout production.
Organizer of the 2025 International Student Film Festival (ISFF), Chief Ambassador Lancelot O. Imasuen and Chair of the Local Organizing Committee, Professor Gloria E. Samuel, applauded the leadership of Wigwe University for the high-quality display by its students, noting that it was an outstanding feat by representatives of a new university.
The remarkable achievement highlights Wigwe University’s growing prominence in global creative arts circles and reinforces its commitment to nurturing world-class talent. WUCAC Staff Adviser, Mr Victor Coker, attributed the success to the sheer hard work and dedication with a blend of ingenuity and professionalism, noting that their success is a testament to the university’s vision of empowering students to excel in creative and industry-driven fields.
