Wigwe University, Mopol 19 Strengthen Security Partnership to Enhance Campus Safety

In its commitment to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment, Wigwe University today welcomed the second-in-command of Mopol 19, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Ahmad K. Sulaimon, who paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Marwan Al-Akaidi, and members of the University Management.

Representing the Commander of Mopol 19, Rivers State, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Promise Wosu, CSP Sulaimon said the visit was aimed at assessing and strengthening the security architecture within and around the university community. He disclosed that, as part of the Squadron Commander’s directive to reinforce security across the state, additional personnel would be deployed to the university area, while a patrol vehicle would be provided to support surveillance around the campus perimeter and throughout the Isiokpo community.

In his remarks, Professor Al-Akaidi expressed appreciation to the officers and men of Mopol 19 for their unwavering support in safeguarding the university community. He particularly commended the leadership of the officer in charge of the campus security unit, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mathew Uyouyo, describing his professionalism and dedication as exemplary.

The Vice-Chancellor also welcomed the enhanced security measures, noting that the deployment of additional personnel would further strengthen the safety of lives and property within the university and its host community. He reaffirmed the university’s gratitude to the leadership and officers of Mopol 19 for their continued sacrifices and commitment to ensuring a secure environment for learning and development.
