It was a day of culture, tradition, and celebration as the Vice-Chancellor and CEO of Wigwe University, Professor Marwan Al-Akaidi, joined the people of Isiokpo Kingdom for their annual New Yam Festival on Monday, September 1, 2025.

Professor Al-Akaidi paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Majesty, King Blessing Wagor, Wagidi 40th, Nyewe-Ali of Isiokpo Ancient Kingdom, where he congratulated the King and the people on a peaceful and fruitful year in the community.

The festival arena was alive with vibrant displays of dance, music, and tradition. It also allowed the Vice-Chancellor to meet with the Council of Chiefs, as well as interact with notable sons and daughters of Isiokpo, all gathered to honour one of the kingdom’s most cherished cultural celebrations.
