In preparation for the commencement of the 2025/2026 academic session, Professor Marwan Al-Akaidi, Vice-Chancellor and CEO of Wigwe University, today welcomed newly recruited faculty members into the University community, charging them to work with a mindset of contributing to the development of changemakers among the students.

Professor Al-Akaid met with Professor Paul Nosike, Department of Electrical Engineering; Dr Olorunfemi Bayode, Dr Enesi Yekini Salawu and Dr Chibuzor Victor Ikwuagu, all from the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

He said the University Management was intentional in the recruitment exercise, noting that their wealth of experience must be brought to bear on the academic outlook of the students, and contribute to driving collaboration in their respective fields of endeavour.

The 2025/2026 academic session at Wigwe University commences this Friday, October 10, as returning students are expected to return to campus between October 10th and 12th, with lectures scheduled to begin on Monday, October 13th, 2025. Freshmen will resume on Wednesday, October 29th, 2025.
