The Vice-Chancellor of Wigwe University, Professor Marwan Al-Akaidi, on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, received a delegation from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) of Nigeria on a courtesy visit to the university.
Professor Al-Akaidi expressed his excitement about the potential partnership, which will enrich the academic experience for both students and faculty within the College of Management Science at Wigwe University.
The delegation, led by the Country Director, ACCA Nigeria, Mr. Tom Isibor, shared innovative ideas for crafting a partnership that resonates with Wigwe University’s aspiration of becoming a premier global institution.
Mr. Isibor underscored the exciting potential of making Wigwe University an accredited ACCA examination centre, which will cater to the needs of aspiring professionals eager to attain their professional certification. “This initiative would offer significant convenience for students and professionals in the area pursuing the esteemed qualification,” he enthused.
In his remarks, Prof. Al-Akaidi expressed gratitude to ACCA for their interest in collaborating with Wigwe University, affirming that the Management is receptive to fruitful partnerships that will advance the university’s founding vision.
He expressed enthusiasm about the immense possibilities within the proposal, noting that they would be explored further as the relevant departments developed and evolved, particularly with the anticipated growth of the university’s student body.
