In a bid to strengthen institutional collaboration in areas of teaching and research, the Vice-Chancellor and CEO of Wigwe University, Professor Marwan Al-Akaidi, met with the Vice-Chancellor, University of Port Harcourt, Professor Georgewill A. Owunari, where they both discussed issues of mutual interest.

Professor Marwan appreciated the partnership that currently exists between UNIPORT and Wigwe University, and stressed the importance of ensuring that it is taken to a new dimension that will advance tertiary education, not just in the state, but the nation at large.

In his remarks, Professor Owunari said the relationship and bond that exist between both institutions will be nurtured to the advantage of both universities, noting that Wigwe University is one university they are committed to pushing the frontiers of tertiary education with.

As Wigwe University prepares to welcome first-year students into the new academic session, Professor Owunari assured Professor Marwan that he will be visiting the university campus to join him in welcoming the new undergraduates during the orientation programme for the new intakes.
